Just when you thought Paypal couldn't get any worse...

just got to work and checked my email and was greeted with an email from paypal letting me know that now every payment received via paypal will be held up to 21 days in a "pending" state. It can be relesaed earlier than 21 days if paypal can confirm the item has been delivered or if there has been positive feedback left on ebay for the transaction.

pretty ridiculous, what if you are getting payment for a service or something where no tangible goods are being exchanged?

just another reason to try and avoid paypal/ebay and hope for an alternative.

At least you didn't sell someone an antique violin who claimed it wasn't as advertised, only to have paypal require the buyer to destroy it to get a refund.

I believe this is old news, like it's been implemented for years now.

Not sure if it applies to everyone though.

Not using your PayPal account enough so they will make money off of interest by holding your money. I've had that email a couple times then I start using my account more then they take off restrictions. Stop using for awhile then I get the email again. It's a shitty practice and I've tried going without PayPal but in the end it's worth the headache. I have had a paypal acct for years without a single issue. Reasons I still use PayPal: eBay, secure easy checkout with a lot of websites, secure transactions for trading with people on this forum buying and selling computer parts.

I've never encountered it, but then again I don't sell stuff on ebay. So it sounds to me like it's an ebay thing rather than a paypal thing.

There is always room for Paypal to get worse, and they prove this over and over again.
