Just when I thought Dogs were the best pets...

I would like to clone one and make about mmmm eleventy of them and release them back into the wild. This would cure cats walking all over cars and just being annoying in general

My apartment complex needs one. Some bitch keeps feeding this mangy stray cat, so it is constantly hanging around the complex now! I tried stealing the bowls she puts the food and water in, but she replaced them. I guess I'll just have to keep stealing them until she runs out.

Cats suck.

Amen Brother!

At least they don't need to be taken outside just to shit and piss. Besides.. dogs are loud, obnoxious, smelly, and more expensive to own and take care of then cats.

Cats are cleaner, self-maintained, easier and less expensive to care for, better for relieving stress, cuter in terms of appearance and noise, more fun to play with, are able to live on the outside for long periods of time... I could go on and on.

But don't mind me, go on with your moronic discussion about a cat-eating snake being the best pet in the world.

man you really are crazy, pet likes and dislikes are like a religion, you wouldnt listen to my points even if i listed them out which i will!

cats are cleaner
cats are self maintained for the most part
they are easy
cuter is debatable but definately not concrete
cats are not more fun to play with, dogs will play when you want, cats will only play when they feel like it.
dogs can live outside for long periods of time as well
cats are finnicky
dogs are exteremely loyal and love unconditionally
cats are selfish, self servient and only love themselves

if you want an animal that will protect you while you are under attack, an animal that would lay down its life for you, an animal that would lay by your dead body loyally then get a dog

if you want an animal that serves its own self, is unloyal, would eat you if you died and think nothing of it then get a cat or a child, your choice

To those who are bashing cats/dogs/taking side with one or the other. I'm tired of reading threads where certain pets are bashed by others. Please remember that some people like cats, and some people like dogs. One is not superior to the other, it's personal preference.

That being said, also remember that cats help control the rodent population.

Something resembling restraint in a pet thread on AT? For shame, you should know better...

5 more weeks and these little bundles of adolescent hormones once again become the problem of some poor teacher and have considerably less time to troll and flamebait on ATOT.

So do snakes. In fact, in farm country, snakes account for much more damage to the rodent poplulace than cats do. There are many species of non-poisonous snakes (but they would still bite you...) that are considered "farmers friends."

For roughly 90% of the world's snake population, rodents (of all sizes) are the mainstay of their diet. For the large constrictors (Large Pythons/Anacondas/Boas) they need larger food. Keep in mind that if a 15 foot snake eats a 10 pound or so cat that it won't "need" to eat for at least 4 weeks or so.

Snakes are predators of opportunity. Unless it has very recently eaten, a snake will continue to eat. Not like dogs, which will eat until they puke, but close to it.

Snakes will eat pretty much anything they can overpower. For whatever evolutionary reason, humans are NOT a prey of choice. But snakes are among the dumbest creatures ever. If they kill it, they will automatically eat it. Most "disagreeable food" is puked up within hours...but the food is dead already (and a snake's stomach acid turns bones into liquid...), so no advantage for the thing being puked upe.

I kept small to medium (under 12 feet long) constrictors for 8 years and know quite a bit about them. 🙂 The largest of which was an 11-foot Coumbian Red Tail Boa that was eating 1 small rabbit every two weeks or so. Due to work concerns I had to sell my little family of three. I miss them from time to time, but I don't miss having to buy giant rats and rabbits every week or so.

Generally speaking, you don't hear to often of people who hate dogs, wish them ill will, and talk of doing exceptionally mean things to them. However, you frequently hear about people who have this attitude towards cats. I think this is most common among men with ego issues who feel a need for a subservient companion but can't find a woman willing to fill that role. Whereas a dog can fill that role, a cat only serves to remind these men that few women will. They can't take their anger out on women, so they take it out on cats.
