Hey guys, I just went SLI today. I installed the drivers and hardware correctly, even got the message when booting back into Windows XP Pro SP2 saying it was ready. Multi-GPU is on in nVidia properties, too. Well for some reason I can't switch my Anti-aliasing to anything higher than 8xS. Also, in Counter-Strike:Source, I'm not getting any higher FPS than I used to (~140 constant, 70-100 in HDR areas). BF2 feels no different either. I've even run 3dMark06 and once again, no dice. Any help on this would be appreciated, or atleast a pointer to a site that has the necessary information. Thanks!

On a sidenote: I can't play Far Cry or Quake 4. Whenever I try to open them I get the "Please log in with administrator priveleges and try again." message. I'm the only user on my computer, also of course the administrator account. I really don't know what to do and I couldn't find any help about this online. If you can private message me about details please do! Thanks!

I'm having a hard time understanding your problem. 8xS Anti-aliasing is standard. If you want to use SLI Antialiasing, you set that in the SLI rendering mode under "Advanced Settings". Illustrated instructions here.

With regard to your supposedly not getting higher frame rates in Counter-Strike:Source, ~140FPS is on the high side for 2 7800GTs in SLI. I think you're mistaken about your prior FPS. I don't think its possible to obtain that frame rate with a single 7800GT even if massively overclocked and even with all settings on low and your resolution at 640x480

Also, remember that with 7800GT SLI, you are bottlenecked by CPU speed in CS:S

Matt2: Yeah that is true, slipped my mind :-x

@ Woofmeister: Well I think I figured out how the previos FPS was, CS:S has the "auto-setting detection" thing, and the resolution was much lower than it is now and whatnot. Now the SLI Antialiasing is what I was talking about, I of course have coolbits enabled, but the SLI Antialiasing is nowhere to be found, I can't take any right now, but I'll have to screenshot it.

Sorry for coming off as such a newbie, I was in a mad hurry. Thanks!

i dont think its impossible to achieve 140 fps with one 7800gt at 640*480 unless its supported by a low amount of ram and a weak cpu

edit
reinstalling might fix the problem BTW whats ur fps of far cry and quake at max settings u prefer

Well, I wish I knew what I could get in Far Cry or Quake 4, but I can't play them. I seriously can't stand the combination of WinXP with the copy protection, so if you know a fix for that..

Yeah, they're legit. I got Far Cry with the video cards, and Quake 4 for Christmas. Okay let me explain it more in depth.

Far Cry, completely installed and what not, real CD key. Whenever I open it, it pops up with a message that says: "Please log in with administrator priveleges and try again." Quake 4 does the same thing. If I go to my computer and open it from D: then it gets as far as to the graphical menu then says that. I'm the only user on this machine and yes, I'm full administrator. It's mind boggling.
