Not X2, but just X-men... Got a question:

How did Wolverine escaped from Magneto's grip in the end? I know he stabbed himself, but how come Magneto's force was gone as soon as he did that?

Inside the statue Magneto left them "tide" up with Sabertooth to watch over them. He wasn't using his power to restrain them after he left.

That can't be it... if that's the case, how are the metal bars Magneto used to hold the X-mens still sticking to the wall? Magneto had to be still using his powers to hold the bars in place since he can't fuse metal...

Actually he was still using his powers. If you paid attention during the movie, you would have seen that the metal bars are actually a part of the statue of liberty - they were bent to hold the X-Men. When Wolverine punctured himself with his own claws, he destroyed/tore up the metal bars holding him from behind, therefore he dropped down. The metal bars holding the other X-Men in place were destroyed by Wolverine after Cyclops blasted Sabretooth to hell.

I still dont see how the bars can still hold all the X-mens in place just because they bent... I mean, Wolverine was supposed to be pretty strong, and I dont remember seeing any noticable points on the wall where the bars can hold tightly on to...

yeah I read your post... I just dont see how:
a) if Magneto was still using his powers, then Wolverine wouldnt have gotten free even if he cut/tore the bars holding him... since Magneto could control the metal inside Wolverine's body...

b) if Magneto wasn't using his powers, then I dont see how the metal bars can hold all the X-mens just by bending...

Maybe I am missing something here... I dont know...

2.) It's a movie based on a comic book based on mutants

Relax. :)

Actually then he probably wasn't using his powers - I think he used them originally to bend the bars to hold them in place. About the "how the metal bars can hold all the X-mens just by bending..." - none of them possess super strength iirc. It's pretty damn hard bending copper metal, especially several inch thick metal

I think what you're missing is thick metal = hard to bend.

Do us all a favor and stay away from any sort of architecture as a career, okay? Metal = hard to bend. It doesn't have to be 'fused' to anything in order for it to be hard to bend. Go find a decent-sized piece of metal and try to bend it; not easy, is it? It isn't any easier when it's been shunted around you and you have little to no leverage.

Wolverine's claws would have freed him because if you cut the two ends of something holding you in place, it's going to fall away.

They were part of the structure of the SoL, but since he can bend several inch thick metal that rivets are no problem :)
