Well, I just watched the war coverage on French TV. It is easy to see that the French are friends with the Iraqi regime.
First of all, there are journalists in Baghdad right now, and they film injured people as well as Iraqis shooting in the water (to get the 2 pilots that "supposably" ejected).
Then, they showed the American POW and the soldiers that were killed today (the video from which CNN took the single picture).
Finally, when you listen to the anchor, you hear a lot of:"well, America now realize that there is gonna be resistance, and it should weaken their morale a lot", "this incident shows that American soldiers are poorly informed, that they hardly know where they are right now and who thay are foghting, and they just follow orders blindly", "the troops are progressing waay slower than expected, as they only advanced 180 miles in 3 hours... (wtf, I hardly advance that fast when travelling on the highway!!!)"
On a positive note, they also showed a large chunk of the fight between US marines and resistance in Umm Qasr with live voices from the soldiers (you hear them talk, you see them put on their mask, then call the command post...). So that really give you the impression to be with the soldiers.
