Friend brought over an import DVD of the movie and we just sat through it..

AMAZING! The animation sets a new standard which American studios won't be reaching for years to come.

I reccomend everyone see it as soon as they can.

SEE YA!

yeah, the animation was cool and all... but i thought the movie in itself sucked.

it was like watching Titan AE with more eyecandy.

it would do MUCH better as a series or miniseries IMO.

eye candy sure covered up the storyline..

but it's def worth checking out. seems like metropolis upgraded, but the damn weak storyline.. 🙁

those are all CGI, no longer really "animated" although if u want to compare to lion king or aladdin or something...

however americanizing any anime usually turns out awful, watch an episode of shaman king in japanese with subs, then compare it to fox's lame dubbed out version, huge difference

im not a big fan of anime but the movie was pretty cool. it looked fantastic and had a great pace.
i think some of the story could use some work and i argee with guybrush threepwood (which is something i always wanted to say, i now realize) it would have done better with more time to develop. much better than Titan AE i thought. but i see what you're saying.

i saw it....hehe i'm korean..so..

storyline coulda been better, but i guess they had a budget to work w/ and couldn't make the movie longer... a good 20 or so minutes of character developement and explanation woulda made the movie 10x better...

i suppose we can expect more in the future?...hopefully..

US animation just have different style from those of Japan and Korea. Here most animation are still aimed at kids, while Japanese anime are mostly just for grown up. Some of them have much darker storyline.

saw the trailer for wonderful days. Looks really good. I'm going to get an import copy and watch it.
