I started about an hour in but watched Sling Blade on one of those movie channels--- really odd movie but very good. I never knew Thorton was that good of an actor. Ending was brilliant; you knew what was going to happen even though they didn't outright tell you.

I really enjoyed it, anyone else see it?

Yes I've seen it. It's a really good movie. You really get attached to the characters. Billy Bob wrote and directed it himself as well.

"Some folks calls it a sling blade, I call it a kaiser blade MmmmmHmmm..."

Best film Billy Bob ever did IMHO everything else was sort of down hill for him after that despite the fact that that's when he really started to become famous".

I've partied with the girl at the beginning who is told she has to step outside before Billy Bob is interviewed. A small group of us went to New Orleans in 1995, and she was a part of that group. My brush with fame! Lol. She was really cool, and apparently a friend of the Thornton family (all from Arkansas).

Anyway, you should also check out:

You can watch it on YouTube:

Part 3

It's only about 24 minutes long total, but it's really good. A nice performance by Molly Ringwald to boot!

Probably one of the best written movies of all time. Also well acted...seriously, a bunch of nobodies really, not much of a budget, but a storyline paced well with poignant moments that left watchers wanting more. What a way to transform a character...in the beginning, the audience laughed, was afraid and felt Carl Childers was not to be trusted.

It is tough to compare this film with anything these days...it is one of my favorites...through in a sideline allegory and made us think about what sin really is, what is tolerable, intolerable and justified.
