Hi,

I just got done watching SAW for the first time. I then looked online trying to find more info on Adam and wound up looking at spoilers to the next movies (about Amanda).

Jigsaw nabbed Adam because he was following Dr. Gordon snapping pictures for Tapp. Now he is apart of Dr. Gordon's "game" for storyline progression.

Movie starts with him in the tub and a key floating around the tub. He struggles, knocks the Drain plug loose and the water (with key) goes down the drain. He gets out, lights turn on and its Adam, Gordon and the "dead guy" (Jigsaw).

He was given a couple things on his side:

1. Key to his lock (which he was unaware of and is now in the septic system.)
2. Tape in pocket saying he might die, his choice. No further hints. (guess the key shouldn't have gone down the drain)
3. Tape player on his side of the "dead body". Obviously his tape would be played first before Dr. Gordons
4. Bag with 2 Saw's and pictures he took. (after Dr. Gordon's tape played w/ hint on where to look)

On Dr. Gordon's side:
1. Tape with actual hints to something in the room.
2. Bullet
3. Gun on his side of the "dead Body".
3. Photo in wallet of wife and kids w/ reverse being additional hint to an X.
4. Phone
5. A couple Ciggs
6. Note that he didn't have to use the bullet to kill Adam, he could use the poison blood.

So, Jigsaw wanted Dr Gordon to either cut his foot off and escape or kill Adam to "win".

Cut to the end of the film. Doctor Gordon cuts off foot, shoots at Adam with gun. Adam kills Zep. Then Jigsaw gets up and tells Adam the key to his lock was in the bathtub that went down the drain. "Game Over" and that's that.

The fact that there was a Key to Adam's lock to begin with is where my confusion starts.

At first, i thought obviously Jigsaw "knew" the key would go down the drain when Adam was trying to get out of the tub. But then I dig deeper and find out that Amanda, against Jigsaw's orders, tied the drain plug to Adams leg. So if Amanda followed orders and it wasn't tied to his leg, that shoots Jigsaw's entire trap for the Doctor to hell!! Adam could have gotten out of the tub, lights turn on, he sees the key in tub, unlocks himself, walks out the door and Jigsaw's trap is now useless for Dr. Gordon. It almost seems like he was intending for Adam to walk away if not for Amanda's meddling that assured the key would go down the drain. If Jigsaw did want Adam to stay, why leave the key in the tub in the first place? I mean, why would he risk the key not going down the drain and making Dr. Gordon's game uesless. WTF, would he just get up and go "Oppss, My Bad, i'll go think of something else, you stay here!"

This just seems like poor thinking to a "mastermind" that Jigsaw is suppose to be hyped as.

Is this just a plot hole w/ the writers of the movie?

I saw 1-3. They are pretty comical. I laughed pretty much the whole way through 2.

The only part of Saw 2 that scared me was when they switched cameras and the black dude appeared out of nowhere.

I'm pretty sure Saw is not meant to scare

it's more about shock value, creativity of death puzzles, and the plot twist at the end while dramatic music plays
