Just watched Moulin Rouge.. WTF??

Actually i watched it last nite.

What a mind trip.. The animation and edited movement of the film is warped.. heavy alternating of slow-mo and fast-mo.. (which was subtle in Romeo & Juliet) also choppy framerate effect

I didn't think the movie was a musical

They sang and sang and sang... I didn't like it at all.. my head needs rest..

Do not watch this movie.. I watched this cuz many people told me it was unexpectedly good.. I saw this instead of Pearl Harbor.. I should've seen THAT one instead..

The beginning totally sucked.. it seemed unsettling.. plot moved on without any solid establishment of the main story. And like people said, it did turn out to be better.. but it was ok at its best..

Do not see this movie.. it's musical/weird/plain not worth ur money and time

evolution rocks!!! my wife was crying in tears, her stomach hurt soo much from laughing.... i thought it was great hehehe... + american pie 2 and scary movie 2 coming soon..

scary movie 2 coming soon..

I saw a promo for it, it looks pretty funny - they've got a "Poltergeist" spoof where the little doll pulls Marlon Wayans under the bed, then he starts doing . . . something . . . to it, and the little doll tries to get out from under the bed, and he pulls it back under . . .

Then there's the Exorcist scene . . . 😀

i thought it was interesting for a musical. I saw this instead of Pearl Harbor.. I should've seen THAT one instead haahhaha right... thats just not right. i'd watch moulin rouge 5 times b4 watching crappy pearl harbor again.

that was a great movie man!
it was so creative, refreshing and different!

i loved the musical parts... some of the songs were even funnie!

it wasnt what i expected, but i loved the artistic genious of it.

and i noe some ppl cried at the end....

haahhaha right... thats just not right. i'd watch moulin rouge 5 times b4 watching crappy pearl harbor again

Amen to that

the new republic had the best negative review, imo, that specifically picks
apart the director's visual excesses as the chief weakness.

<< If that focus were maintained, this film might have some vie Parisienne
glamour and some La Bohème pathos. But the focus soon shifts to Luhrmann.
He seems much less interested in his story than he is in Luhrmann virtuosity.
Intense close-ups of lovers' faces, kissing or just breathing in each other's
breath; intense close-ups of almost everyone; grotesque makeup on all the actors
except the lovers and the cabaret dancers; a cascade of kaleidoscopic cuts and
juxtapositions--these are what the director really wants us to admire, it seems.
