Apparently someone leaked a screener of the series premiere, so I thought I'd check it out. I liked it! The story is about people in different parts of the world who discover they have special abilities. One by one each uses their ability for the first time, and towards the end a few of them find each other and realize their purpose. There's a guy who can fly, a girl who regenerates like Wolverine, a mom who's being "followed", a junkie artist who paints the future, and a Japanese fellow who can manipulate space-time. Of course, the pilot can't do much character development for all of them, but you have your typical superhero discovering themselves situations. One is ashamed, one is afraid, one's trying to convince his friend of his powers, etc.

While watching it I thought it was VERY reminiscent of "Unbreakable", the Shyamalan flick about superheroes and supervillains in real life. I wonder if Shyamalan's attached to the show in any way. But I think this show will do very well with comic book fans and fans of "un-reality TV" (people who like "LOST" etc.)

Anyone else seen it? Thoughts?

Didn't they only leak the first hour? The actual premiere episode is two hours long.

I'm looking at 551MB. The avg hour long show is 250MB, so unless somebody made a crazy high res encode, this is the full 2 hr. pilot.

Update: Well, I stand corrected. It's in fact only 1 hour long. Perhaps the pilot and premiere episodes are different.

Ok, I finished watching it last night. Man, this show's awesome. I wanna see the show develop each and every character, especially Niki Sanders the Vegas stripper w/ an evil alter ego, played by Ali Larter. But I don't think main stream America will accept it. It's just too abnormal.

I thought the same thing the first time I saw the commercial. I don't feel like downloading it now, but I will definitely catch the premiere. From the commercials it looks to have potential, but I don't know if it will take off.

The commercials have definitely piqued my interest, and that doesn't happen often.

Well don't forget to add the commercials back in. If this is 1 hour without them, it can easily be 2 hours with them. That said, certain sequences had an "unfinished" look to them so this pilot episode might be different from the actual premiere in September.

It could be that "Heroes" is using some of the same writers too, seeing how USA is another NBC Universal property.

Don't they have torrent search engines now? Like if you use Firefox, can't you add a bittorrent search engine in the upper right hand corner search box?? :)

from what i've heard it is only 1/2 of the entire pilot. the editing seemed to jump around a bit leaving some things unexplained, but I could have just missed that stuff.

Wow, this is one ****** rip. I've never had a video freeze up and have audio out of synch as much as this. I don't even know if I can finish it.

I had absolutely no problem playing it. Keep in mind I use MPC. Barton 3200+ and Ti4200 for old school power.

I didn't have any of those problems, but it is a very sh*tty rip if the original source really was DVD. Even though it was labeled 'divx', its actually an older WMV encode, and the rip has HORRIBLE interlacing artifacts and contrast/chroma issues.

Hmm, I wonder what it was then. I d/l quite a bit and have never had that problem.

The video/audio would be in sync, but then the video would gradually slow it seemed like, eventually forming a pretty large lag. Usually a ~55min rip at 500+ MB is a lot better quality.

The show does look interesting, though.
