Just watched Das Boot for the first time

yea... ironic ending to the film... tough to sit through a movie that long, although its a very good one!

I saw Das boot back in '81 when it came out, It still holds as one of the best
war movies ever made, totally engrossing.

I have seen the first disc of the 2 disc set and I thought it was pretty slow. I heard it gets better, but I have a hard time of sitting through 3.5 hours of anything.
