Yep, that movie was great. However we're not hopelessly outnumbered though

I agree, this time it's them running for cover 🙂

And we actually have a government who's willing to give the troops the firepower they need to accomplish the job. 😉

Amazing someone actually knows that.... Clinton was a coward and a hippie, he is the reason for that entire incident.

In other news, yeah... Black Hawk Down was a great movie, depressing but great.

We certainly have no problems in Afghanistan right now with the current Administration, and the troops have the firepower they need to accomplish the job

Exactly...

Had we taken M1 tanks and M2 Bradley's instead of Hummer's and 5-ton trucks, it would have gone down very differently...

Not being able to find someone in a country the size of texas because they have burrows like mice is problems? No, thats just what was expected.

I dont think we would have needed M1's and bradleys. Just a couple APCs like they brought in at the end. something that could drive right through the road blocks. Air support would have helped. They noted that they wanted the AC130H gunship. If they had that, then the 1800 people collapsing on the 2nd downed helicopter would not have had a chance.

If the movie was accurate to life, then I am extremely impressed with the performance of the Delta guys. They appeared considerably better at what they did than the Rangers who were no slouches either.

How?

Run around. Get chased by skinnies. Run around more. Scream a lot. Bullets whizzing by...nobody can hear you...bullets whizzing by...

Find a black hawk which is down. Dead bodies everywhere. Some of the skinnies are fatties.

Lots of yelling, lots of dirt and blood, the end.

Yes they were that good. A few months before the movie came out I read the original series of stories that Mark Bowden wrote for a newspaper. This is actually an abridged version of the full book, but it is still a very good read.
