I love washing the car. Actually the dealership does it for free (inside and out). As many times as I want...and the dealership is about 5 min from the house. I go about 1-2 times per week after work.

Lexus - I love the dealership - great customer service!! They have a putting green, a big screen tv, a cafe, and a messeus that comes in for FREE...

Any luxury car dealer does stuff like that. I think even Cadillac.

I got an automatic polisher and sine then waxing my car became a breeze. Claying it is still a PITA though.

Stick a ball of clay on the end of a cordless drill and go to town. :p

Mercedes does that, but I'm too much of a chicken to use that service. I kind of think it'll look weird if I showed up there every week to have them wash my car.

I just Zainoed this past weekend too. Didn't have the endurance to do more than six layers, so that's all she'll get until roughly half a year from now. Can't really see much of a difference after the 3rd or 4th layer anyway on a white car.

Yeah, but it's just a perk they give to people who buy cars as status symbols. They get to say that the dealer washes their car, and has a starbucks inside, etc. It impresses their friends as much as their Toyot--- Lexus itself. Plus what kind of snob washes their own car?

Nope, just saying that they are good to their customers. As much as you may need to think it, I don't live my life to impress others. I washed my other cars by hand, but the location near my house is perfect, so I take advantage of what was offered to me.

Also consider that the snob people that have the dealer wash their car think that they do a good job. That's because they lack the skills to wash their own car. People washing other peoples' cars just don't put in the effort.

Is this true of people that take their car to get washed by a car wash? So car wash places are bad too?

I've never seen a car wash do a great job of washing a car. I have seen pro detailers do good jobs though.
