Just upgraded to Fios Home Internet: 200 Mbps from my existing 100/100 plan. At home, via wireless on the PC + Note 9, I would easily get 100/120 speeds. On both my 2.4ghz and 5ghz networks.

Now, on 2.4ghz I get speeds all over the place from 60/40 to 24/44 to 127/117. On 5ghz I get 250+/111-150.

I've reset my G1100 wireless router 2x to see if things change, same thing. Will resetting my ONT fix this? If so, how? Do I need to call Fios to see if they need to do something on their end?

As a first step (to check the actual FIOS) connect a wired Computer with CAT6 directly to the Router and check the Speed with a Good countable online service.

If you're trying to achieve the highest speeds over wifi, you're really just going down the rabbit hole.

Wifi speeds depend on a TON of factors, even including how many other wifi networks are in the area.

Always check your connection with a WIRED connection to troubleshoot the WAN connection.

Once you've determined if you're getting full WAN speeds, THEN you can start troubleshooting wifi and specific devices.

I have that G1100 router, and found it's wifi speeds to suck. Verizon doesn't guarantee wifi speeds ( like most carriers). I got a Ubiquiti access point and get great wifi speeds now.

This issue and many other in Networking is like….

Formula 4 racing car has a 160 HP and can reach 100 MPH in 4 sec.

So... how come my Dodge RAM 3500 with 410 HP does Not reach 100 MPH in 1.6 Sec.

May be that figuring it out with a car can illuminate the Speed issues in Networks.;)

You should be able to reboot your ONT in the app or online. I believe even the automated dialer prompts if you want a reboot. Not sure if that will fix it, but worth a shot.

Are you able to get a good transfer speed when next to your wifi router? If from 6-8' with line of sight, you should be able to max it out. If not, then you need to test with a wired connection to rule out wifi issues.
