Installed and played with the newest Opera browser today. I found that this forum didn't always line up properly and when I edited posted messages there were extra characters (squares) in the Message Text field. Also had problems with streaming media. In fact, Opera crashes when I go to http://www.star957.com/life_tv.html and select the "cams" link then click on any cam after that. Crash every time. Works fine in IE. I can't imagine anyone paying $$$ for a buggy browser when there are better browsers available for free. :p

I love Opera! Makes me feel all squishy inside.

It didn't crash on me. You need the java plugin to play those live cams. It's availible on opera's website.

The BETA's are REALLY buggy (personal expeirence), make sure you didn't d/l one of them. The latest release (non-beta) is Opera 4.01.

IE can support lots of web technology, like Dynamic HTML much better than others. I'll stick to IE too. Stick to IE5, not IE5.5. IE5.5 sucks! After upgrading to IE5.5, pages stop loading halfway. I really don't know what is wrong. Most of the time when going to view a web page, the globe animation will stop spinning in the browser, and nothing seems to come into action on the browser. Is that a bug or what? I'll highly recommend IE5, but not IE5.5.

Wonder what's wrong because I did download 4.01 with Java. It was around 9MB in size and I was prompted to install it during setup. I wonder if this has anything to do with running WinME?

Speaking of WinME the only thing I don't like about it is the fact that IE5.5 is included. I've had the same problem with pages loading 1/2 way and the icon in the upper right not working all the time. Also noticed that when I spawn another browser window the stupid "Links" bar pops up in it sometimes. I remember this happened when I had the 5.5 beta installed on another system. Wait, another annoying thing about WinMe is Media Player 7. :p

I use both Opera & IE5. Both have their pluses & minuses. Opera is good as you can setit up to open multiple webpage windows in the one browser. So I have it setup, so when I click it it opens up with the 6 webpages that I check everyday, but for actuall browsing I use IE5.

Actual Crayon I've been having the same problem as you of late, with web pages only half loading, I've been getting 'winsock resource limit' dialogue boxes too. So I spose the 2 problems are related. Don't think its anything to do with Opera, as I've been using that for about 6 months without any problems in it or IE5.
