I just took the OS portion of the A+ exam and I passed but instead of coming out of it smiling that I passed on the first try I was irritated with the test setup. It covers quite a bit of material and the test is adaptive with between 20-30 questions. How can a maximum of 30 questions accurately represent your knowledge of all this material? Reminds me of a college prof I had who after assigning 100 pages of material and using 80 pages of overhead notes would give us a test with four questions on it.

It tests on levels. It's structured with questions that range in 5 levels of difficulty. It starts with a level 3 question. If you get it wrong, you're asked a level 2 question.... If you get the level 3 right, it'll move up to a level 4 question. Once you answer x number of level 4 or 5 questions, you'll pass....it's got a set ratio you have to get to pass the test. So as long as you don't miss too many questions, you'll pass.
