Just to be sure...swap out sim cards on an iPhone 3G?

You should be able to take the SIM out of the iPhone and move it to a beater phone without any issues. My friend does that every time he goes mountain biking with his 2.5g iPhone.

I know it works for the older iPhone (what's a 2.5g iPhone anyway) but there is talk that it might not work with the newer one (or perhaps that voicemail doesn't work).

Anyone else?

2.5G explained.

The usim in the 3G iphone is backwards compatible, and should work in any gsm phone that is 2G capable. I'm not sure about voicemail though, because the 3G iPhone uses visual voicemail, and I'm not sure if it sends the regular notifacation of the old voicemail system.

I'll charge my razr, and try it. I gotta find that litlle sim removal thing for the iPhone. That's gonna be the hard part.😛

I tried it, and get voicemail notification on my Razr. You should be good to go.

Are you on ATT (i.e in the US)

If so, RAD!

And regardless, thank you for checking this out. That's very considerate of you and I appreciate you taking the time.
