Other varations can also be used such as:

"Dark."
"Goin' dark"
"I'm goin' dark" (Personal Favorite)


Although the whole point of "going dark" is to not be in communication with anyone else, we won't let that stand in the way. Because what 24 fan won't appreciate this whimsical play on one of the show's sayings.

I hate that. I had a coworker that said that *EVERY* time any phone rang or chirped. We all had Nextels. And were virtually glued to at least one phone at all times. It was annoying as hell.

That said, "going dark" isn't exactly anything new... it's been in use for years, in reference to circuits being powered down...
