Just think about the game Enter the Matrix.. are we entering a new realm of videogames?

This is pretty much the first time a movie and a videogame play such a role with each other.. the movie can't really fully be understood unless you play the game and get all the plot info out of it...

Are we entering a new time period of video games now where they will mean much more to culture then they have before?

Uh, considering a child could understand the oh so deep plot of the matrix I seriously doubt any advantage would be gained using a game.

But you don't get the full experience, you don't realize everything..

No one really knows whats going on in that movie... there are so many theories out there right now..

well i thought for long that it would be time for something like that. the economic idea of movie+game+animatrix was quite cool. but i believe video-games aren't quite there (also refearing to userbase. it maybe worked fine for the matrix (as it was thought of from the beginning, and the companies being shure of the success. the only movie with a same potential in my point of view is t3 right now. they have the fanbase and if it was made decent i could work.
but i would rather say that half-life 2 is gonna initiate a new realm of video-games (e3-demos were awesome, i almost forgot about doom3)

You all seem to be missing my point.

This is the first time a movie and a game have tied together in such a way that when people see the movie and then play they game they understand it so much more. Usually in the past games have "been the movie" but did nothing to further the plot. Here we have something that goes along with the movie, that compeltely ties in, is written by the writers of the matrix, that uses the same actors...

Yes, we're entering a new realm of horrible attempts be developers to cash in on this movie tie-in subplot craze, and will soon be burdened with ridiculous amounts of Movie Games.
