Just tested my broadband.. Is this good?

Um.. yes.

And 256kbps upload is standard for Cable, here in the states at least.

I just tested my Comcast cable connection at the same site and got 2986 and 242... Virtually the same speeds you got.

Our line is rated at 3megabits down and 256 up, so it's pretty close to peak...

Slow my ass. That's 2mbit - very good for most DSL connections. Your upload is weak compared to cable, but just fine for a DSL line.

But I have cable!!!

🙁

1) Where should I be at?
2) I've used Dr. TCP What else can I use?

It's fine... spec is 3000/256 for comcast

My download speed is only a little better, and I too have comcast. (Via DSL reports) I have downloaded from servers at near 400k

how can you complain about 3mbit download???

now the upload isn't that great, but it's not horrible...most cable upload is either 384 or 512...

also, it looks like you're probably capped at 3mbit, so no software is going to make it go faster, unless you want to do it illegally by hacking your cable modem.

eh, i work for the cable company here and our upload is capped at 128, you can get it up to 384 but they charge way too much for it. really wish they would up it for our users

Why do you think that's slow? Your upload and download are twice the speed of mine. You're getting advertised speeds.

So suck it up. 😛

Ruh Roh! :Q 😛

1) Depends on what the average for your area is. What were your quoted line numbers from the cableco?
2) Check the physical line quality of the cable. Self or professional install?

lmao @ ruh roh

u think thats bad? u are getting twice as much as I am for both upload and download... Verizon sucks... boo nah 1.5mit down is okay. I DO wish I had faster than 128 up though its kinda a pain for FTP and stuff.
