Wow. This is sweet. I'd been saving for about 6 months (I'm a college student 😀) and waiting for the new X3100 and Santa Rosas to come out for the macbook...finally bit the bullet this weekend, and got a 2.2 Macbook with my student discount.


It's great, so great. Glad I switched 😀

I'll be upgrading to 2x1GB of RAM after Thanksgiving, either with CC's $20 Kingston RAM or some $23 RAM from newegg, then putting in a 7200 RPM drive someone in the near future also.

So much better than my HP P4 2.4 I've had for the past 3 years....

Don't forget about the Hitachi deal ($142.99 for the 200gb 7200rpm Hitachi) at Best Buy. Just make sure you get the serial number that starts with DTG and then remove it from the USB case 🙂

hopefully the 3100 doesnt suck as bad as the 950 for games

It doesn't suck as bad as the 950... but it isn't exactly a champ. The same site that tested the 128MB and 256MB MBP, also tested the new and old MacBooks, the 3100 came out about twice as good as the 950... so still not great.
