I picked up some pieces from the FS forum,

Danger Den Maze 4 AMD 3/8"
Silver Chevette Heater Core 3/8
120mm fan shroud from Danger den
120MM aluminum fan from DD
Maxi Jet 1200 inline pump

I'm all excited to get the parts and I wanna test out the pump. I attach some hoses, stuckem in some water, and plug the little guy in...nothing happens :(

Actually something happens, just not water being pumped. The pump make a soft noise, I'm assuming its the magnetic plunger thing, but no water is being drawn into the unit. I'm not even sure which is the inlet and which is the outlet. Can anyone familiar with the pump help me figure this out?

Pic of the Pump

I'm thinking the white plastic end is the inlet and teh grey end is the outlet.

The pump was probably not primed. The pump won't 'suck' water up if there is air in the line between the water source and the pump inlet.

K, pump is working fine :)

I connected the pump up to the res and filled it with water, and when I turned the pump on, the water flowed nice and strong.

Now I need to figure out how to connect 1/2" barbs to to 3/8" barbs.

The pump is the only thing that is 1/2" ID? You can buy replacement barbs I know for most pumps at a local plumbing store. I don't know if they have the plastic barbs tho. Plastic is recommended because you can strip out pump threads with metal barbs. Another option is an adapter. 1/2 to 3/8. Dangerden sells something like that.

However.
I recommend heating up the tube with warm water and stretching it over the pump barbs to create a really tight seal. Using clamps would give you more peace in mind also :)
