So todays my first day at my internship, and unlike my old job(computer helpdesk at my university) we are not allowed to use the Internet AT ALL, (
we had this HUGE 7 page "Internet Use/Waiver policy") for anything rather then work, yea i understand it makes sense and will save the company lots of money in workers just mindlessly chatting away there dollars but still is the sucks :-(

Note: I am not one that would abuse Aim or ATOT even if we were allowed to use it, just sucks that their REALLY strict(or seem to be its my first day) on it.

How are you guy's companies?

same policy as you, but ATOT is not blocked, so i thus spam away. AIM isnt allowed, but i found an open port and it works 😛

This is me, inbetween just random browsing, and listening to sports talk radio other the internet.

All you need is a few big posting days to get teh average up quickly. 1 post every 20 minutes is nothin. Even sustained over 7 hours.

I worked for the federal government. Almost every website I have ever heard of was blocked at the firewall level, not to mention I think we had an ISDN connection split for 300 computers.... we had no internet

havent been on the computer's long enough, we had a tour/oreientation and all the papers and bullsh1t for like 6 hours, and only like 30 minutes on computer, but ou have to log on to a comptuer, and the systems guy said if your comptuer is doing things it shouldnt we will get "flags"

Hmmm, blocked on one network, not on the other... And I'm still at work...
I never pay attention to those rules/regulations things. If I'm stuck here in front of a 4 y/o CRT for 9 hours, might as well try to enjoy myself!

Aww..that sucks.

Boyfriend starts job tomorrow..doesn't know exactly what he will be doing. Says it's computer related..but he might not be allowed on the internet...which would REALLY suck..b/c we won't be able to see each other as much anymore now that he's working...and if we can't chat either..it'll just be blah.

He doesn't even know his official hours yet. Blah...he's working for a company he practically has NO clue about..
