A guy at where I work is a fishing guide and he helped me pick out a pole/reel and some gear to go fishing. I don't want to bother him more than necessary and need some places to read up on basic "starting-to-fish" guides. Like what kind of stuff to tie on to if you're using lures or just hooks.... and the different kinds of knots and what each one is for and the best way to hook up leaders.

I'm talking about basic stuff since I really have no clue about fishing except from what I did with my grandfather a long time ago.

Thanks!

It all depends on what kind of fishing you want to do fly fishing, surf fishing, bass fishing, deep sea fishing and of course beer drinking fishing. :D

Alot of off-shore salt water fishing and also some pier fishing.

Good luck,
Fishing is harder than it really looks especially if the fish are smart.

I swear to god I had a Pickeral stare at me straight in the face while I was trying to catch it.

it was about 10ft out in the shore where I could see it looking at my direction, so I casted about 20 ft and slowly reeled it in.

Did this for about an hour to no avail. Ever since then I never went fishing ;)

I like Cat fishing to me it's the best compromise between fishing and beer drinking. Just fill a piece of nylon stocking with some peanut butter oatmeal and week old chicken livers and toss it out there.

PS You can always switch beer drinking to relaxing with a good book if you don't drink. :)
