Just started another game of Super Metroid.

And I still cant believe how freaking AWESOME this game is!
After all these years I still love it. Why is that?

I ordered Symphony of the Night from Amazon, but that was a long time ago and the reseller is giving me some song and dance about how they know they sent it out right after I ordered it. Sad thing is they have an excellent rating, so I dunno if they are bullshitting or there really was a problem with shipping.

As much as I love those games as well, PC gaming? Or did I miss something?
You did miss something, and I'm not gonna tell you. ;)

He's probably one of these, going by the emoticon: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zUe-Ebe8dWU

A link of legendary status. I LOL'ed.

But Metroid on PC?

C'mon guys don't be so naive, chances are 99% of us know exactly what he did.

I'm not a Pirate!
I own a copy of Metroid. The ROM is just a backup, to which I am legally entitled.

I don't think anyone cares that you're doing what you're doing, but don't come here and say that you're legally entitled to it unless you ripped the ROM yourself.

Super Metroid is fantastic, haven't played it in a while but every year or two I throw it in and beat it. Same with Mario RPG and Zelda: Link to the Past.

Dont even know how to do it. I keep hearing about those gadgets that you hook up to a serial port and can copy the game, but never in my entire life have I seen one. Come to think of it, I havent had a motherboard with an old 9 pin serial port in many years. Guess theres USB to 9-pin adapters out there.

You should give Metroid: Zero Mission for GBA a chance too, it's a remake of the original Metroid that plays more like Super Metroid. I might have to dig that up and play it again myself...

I tried Metroid: Zero, it was OK, I still greatly prefer Super Metroid though. I think my gripe with Zero was that everything seemed really jumpy/sloppy (even when comparing it to SM).

So its kind of like comparing the PS1 Castlevania Symphony of the Night to the GBA Aria of Sorrow?

I played through it a while back. I still had my original save file from 1994. :)
I went through all of my SNES games and might play through Secret Of Mana again next.

Did anyone enjoy Metroid Prime as much as I did? Maybe this is the wrong section to ask in. I like the 3D better.

I liked it a lot, until I got to a part where it took me 45 minutes to get to the room before the next save room, got killed by space pirates, tried two more times with the same result, then gave up and traded the game.

I didn't like the controls. Side stepping felt awkward unless I locked onto a target. Why they didn't adopt a goldeneye like control setup is beyond me.

HOly hell I played that game so much way back when.

I think my best run-through was ~ 1:50 or so with ~80% completion :D
