i asked them if i could flash my version 1 board with the pro 2 bios and they said no, the clock generator is different on the pro 2 board.they also said the board will be released about mid november.

D-A-AAAAAA-M-N!!!! I've been holding off buying a Duron/MB for the last month pondering the Abit/Asus dilemma... now the shinning light of my computing aspirations is 4+ weeks away? DAMN! 🙁 Maybe I'll just order the Abit kt7 afterall and live with the high RMA rate????? No no no... I want the MSI pro2!!!

Does anyone know when the next AMD chipset is due out? I couldn't find the chipset roadmap on Toms or Anands place (probablly just didn't look hard enough). If I'm stuck waiting another month.... perhaps I should just wait until the next chipset is out.

Hey, buy the time this board actually ships, I may be able to get a 900mhz t-bird for $80 🙂 maybe with a shot at 1.1ghz in the over'c dept! Copper baby!

Anyone know what the price will be for the MSI pro2?
I need a socket A board as well, but I am in no hurry for it. Looks like a great board, probally worth the wait imho.
 
Anyone know when the dual proc mobos are going to be out? exact date? I'm really holding off getting a kt7raid for the dualies, if anyone has any kind of date could ya post?

 
I think it would be in the 120 to 130 ballpark, but that's TOTALLY my guess.

I have no idea on the dually neither....
 
Hey Rominl, do you think I should get an Abit board now? Or stick it out for a few weeks waiting for the MSI Pro2?

I would say it solely depends on these:

1) do you have more than 4 IDE devices?
2) do you need RAID?
3) do you have ata100 drives or need ata100 for future use?

If your answer is yes to any of above, then definitely go for ABIT (I don't see why you should get the Pro2 and then another controller card). 🙂
