Dear lord, why? I get mining, but I just bought a couple new 1080Ti for US$680 each from Amazon that I plan to mine on as well as game. That's a third more money for almost twice the GPU, and they're new and came with a copy of Destiny 2. Even just looking at dollars per MH/s it would seem like a new 1080Ti would be even.

Congrats on the great sale.

I saw RX 570s and 580s listed on Amazon vendors yesterday at $600 and $700, respectively.

can you imagine....how much more money you could have made if you had originally bought those AMD cards instead? :D

Yep, it was the general stores and saloons that made most of the money in the California Gold Rush.

I'm tempted to do the same as well. My GTX 1070 and R9 290 are not gonna worth more than what they are going for....

I bought my 1070 for $295 from Microcenter a couple months ago. If I can get $450 for it I'd sell it immediately and buy a 1080. hmmmm.

Of course, the problem is all video card prices around RX 470 or higher are going up because of miners. So you may sell your card for more, but you might also have a problem buying the better upgrade for MSRP and it too might be price gouged or continually out of stock. Miners have had so hard of a time finding RX 570s and 580s that they are buying up all the 1060s and above too.

Wow, that's absurd. Maybe I should sell my 1070. I still have a 970 I could use until the prices go back to normal.

Buying cards now seems like a terrible idea. You might make your money back, and you might even make a small profit, but the time to strike it rich has been over for months. I guess maybe you could get some Ethereum and sit on it hoping it will skyrocket again at some point.

I'd sell my dozens of 1070's, 480's, 1060's and 1080tis... but they're making me sweet moola. These prices are insane.

Newegg had some 580's in stock for $349. They were gone in 10 minutes. 4 GB models for $329, they went in 3 minutes.

Put my 1070 on Ebay for $550 BIN. If it sells for that much, I'll just game on my PS4 until the mining craze blows overs. If not, I'll just keep it.

During the last mining craze I sold a an XFX Radeon7950 for $350.00 that I had previously bought used on CL for $150. It's rare that you can actually make money on selling a used video card, so I'm going to put it up for what I consider to be an absurd price and see what happens.
