Just smogged -- NO(PPM) a little high...whatsit mean?

You know, I've lived in California for 20 years now and I've never had a car fail smog despite not following ANY of your advice...your friends must drive old clunkers with issues I guess.

No changes other than going for a much longer drive on the second run. I ended up replacing the cat and passed, but driving longer did make a difference on my second test:

Turns out I only had a two-way cat, and a shitty one at that. I got a new Cali-spec 3-way...this was the result (on E85):

So, it failed on both but once you fixed your car it passed.

My point was giving the cat more time to warm up did in fact change the results.

Yeah, I know...old thread. I didn't have this info at the time of the OP. 😛
 
Glad that I live in a place where smog checks are not mandatory. I wonder how my 1998 Acura 3.5RL with 184k miles will do though!
