Just Setup z-5500, NOT THAT LOUD! HELP

Hello guys, I just got my z-5500 setup in my room and they sound really good. But they don't get loud. Everyone I've heard talk about them said they got louder than they could take at 50%. When I turn up all the settings on my computer and turn the knob on the control pod up to 100% they aren't even close to hurting my ears. Somebody please help me out, I must be forgetting something!?!

check windows volume for master, front, rear and center (file -> properties, check them if they dont show up)
then check any software your sound card came with
also update sound drivers

Double click on the volume thing in the taskbar.

You should see lots of sliders.

Put all of them EXCEPT MICROPHONE all the way up.

Now go deaf.
