I saw it last night too. I liked it a lot. Was a really cool movie. I hope it does wonders for the Coast Guard and they get tons of people enrolling now. Very well done with a great mix of personal story, training story, love story, etc. Highly recommend it.

Good to hear that. My wife's cousin is a coast guard rescue guy, and was a technical advisor on the movie. One of the characters was named after him because of all the work he did (Pilot Doug Lathrop, not sure how big of a part he has in the movie, but not that big I think). We haven't seen it yet though, maybe this weekend.

Everyone I have talked to says this movie is a good one. Its not the best movie they have ever seen, but well worth the price of admission. I may have to go see it. :)

i saw it and thought it was just average, like a C+. the action scenes were cool, but everything else was really predictable. kind of the typical teacher/student story, like Men of Honor. old guy is a hard ass and young hot shot wants to prove himself. it was entertaining, but just average for me. the scene when Aston Kutcher was crying looked really cheesy to me. i think i really have a hard time taking him seriously as an actor, after watching so much That 70's Show. probably more my fault than his, but i just have a hard time buying his character. kevin costner was very good, of course.

with Kutcher, i had a hard time figuring out whether he was angry or scared. particularly that scene early on in the movie where the big guy and kutcher almost get in a fight.
