the albino guy seems to scrawny though, in the books he is made out to be a tall well toned methodical strong person

in the trailers he looks very skinny

Paul Bettany is not so skinny, heh.
just do a google search

he's not as skinny as i thought

Text

but the book made the character seem like he was ripped as hell
and had massive muscle defenition

but if thats the best guy for the roll, its all good

i still plan in seeing the movie, it was just an observation i made

People only hated the book cause they want to go against what is popular. They don't realize that things are sometimes popular because it's GOOD.

It's also a work of fiction.

Dan Brown has publicly stated that the Code is not real. But Da Vinci and his work work real. It is a fictional book based on a historical theme, many other books/movies have been made like this including- Pearl Harbor, Titanic, Girl with Pearl Earing, etc.

Looks good. I support any movie that gets the theist upset.

Quit trolling.

I am not trolling. Most theist dislike the book. That alone makes it good.

You are trolling because you are a troll. I am a strong Christian and I liked the book, his remind me of Michael Crichton old books (I have read Angels and Demons, too). I am betting, that you only read the books after they got so much religious flack, not really because they were good books. You're an ass. Why visit infidels when most real atheists, the intelligent ones that is, go to american atheists? I will tell you why, because you are an ass. That is all. /DVK916 for being a troll.

Oh BTW, Agnosticism is actually the most scientific. So your first thread was totally pointless. If you actually believed in a religion, the only thing different would be that you would be a fundie troll.

It was the Story behind Johannas Vermeer's famous painting. The story (book) about Vermeer and how the painting came to being is speculative fiction. The DaVinci Code is the same kind of speculative ficticious work.

I?m surprised a new religion has not started over this maybe it will take more time . I heard that there is ?proof? that some one is a living descendent of Jesus he may be their ?pope?

If he can turn a stick in to a snake, walk on water, and then come back from the dead it might give him some credibility, if not then he is just one in thousands of other wackos over the centuries to make such dubious claims.

I'm a "theist" (omg?) but I did enjoy the book when I first read it, so much so that I actually finished it in a day (read through my classes). Easy read too, nice little novel. The only problems arose when It actually piqued my interest in the topics it addressed and I started researching it further, at which point I just dismissed the entire thing as bunk, much like the posters above who disagreed with his handling of "facts" in Deception Point. Then all the anti-theists (athiests I guess?) started loving the book more for its Christian-irking qualities and what was supposed to be an easy, enjoyable read of fiction became some sort of religious thing, turning a good but otherwise not particularly noteworthy book into one of the most overhyped stories in modern times/literature.

It was good until people made it into some sort of monstrosity much, much larger than it should have been.

You're right to a point. I read a lot and quite a few of my friends were really excited for me to read it. To me it was little more than a Romance novel. I mean the guy ended every chapter with some sort of cliff hanger. As far as the 'facts' go he took a lot of liberties on the way he presented some theories. If you liked the story that's great but to me it wasn't any more well written than any Star Wars book. If you like the 'facts' in the book go pick up Foucault?s Pendulum.
