I was over at this guy's room in my dorm and he had a remote (looked like a generic keyless entry remote for a car) that shut down and started his computer. I've never seen anything like that, it was pretty badass though not that useful if you never shut off your computer. Where could I get something like that or is it a custom job? The guy didn't know because his bro built the system.
 
Thats pretty cool Nick. I've already got everything it offers with the exception of the remote though.

Azndude51, Stupid Question but have you tried asking your friend to ask his bro?
 
this, while not that cool, is useful

theres not many tv tuner cards that come with remotes that can shutdown and turn on PC's.....put them into standby yes and wake up, but no shut down completely and then restart again

will be usefull for my up coming MCE conversion

I didn't think to ask at the time and I don't even know the guy, I was just in his room because I was doing a project with his rommate.
 
That is pretty awesome. More of a novelty item. But still cool. Unless its for an htpc your always a small reach away from the power button.
