Just saw some guys fighting on side of highway

So I'm on an on-ramp about to get on the highway when I notice two cars parked on the emergency lane. Two guys were out one was pretty young, maybe very early 20's other one was in 40s and was carrying a small red gas can. They were walking together and then the older guy started swinging his arm holding the gas can at the younger guy and the younger darted away from him, but then stopped and started walking back. It seemed kinda playful at first except for the fact that some gas spilled out which I thought was a bit odd for playing around.

Then again the older guy lunged at the younger guy and they actually grappled a bit, with alot of gas spilling out this time, most of it splashing on the younger guy- it seemed as though he was actually trying to get the younger guy wet with gasoline. Also at this point I notice the smell of gasoline in the air. Now I knew something is really wrong here so I was about to call the cops when I notice a county cop car speeding over. By now I'm on the highway and driving away so didn't see what happens next. Maybe will see something in the news about it later. Man that was just weird.

cliff notes:
-saw some guys next to their cars on side of highway who were in some sort of altercation
-one guy seems to be trying to pour gas on the other guy
-was going to call the cops but then they just arrived
