It was good but I guess it had been hyped up so much that I was expecting more. People I talked with about it said it was sooooooo funny. It was funny, I laughed a few times, but it wasn't that funny. The "graphics" however were amazing. I think the texturing of the surfaces is what impressed me the most--quite awesome. I can't wait till that type of 3D rendering can be done in real time in 3D games. A year or two I suppose.....

Yes Eddie Murphy as the donkey was funny, but I have seen/heard him in better roles. To be honest, I watched the Muffin Man part twice and am sorry to say that I did not "get it."

Great movie, I've seen it about 4 times (2x on the airplane)...I like the movie a lot...but never want to see it again.

Monsters Inc also comes very recommended.

Yes, the movie was visually stunning. Apparently they had to make Fiona less "life-like" because she was originally rendered realistically.

The movie was also surpisingly adult despite the fact that it was animated. They mocked so many things, some of which only older teenagers and adults would find hilarious.

"Do you think he's compensating for something?"

I guess I'll have to borrow the DVD from my mom and watch it.. She bought it to entertain all the little nieces and nephews that come over, guess it'll have to entertain me too.

I laughed hard watching Shreck(just got the DVD last week). My favorite scene was when the Princess blows up the Blue bird with her singing, then next scene shows her frying the bird's eggs. Hilarious!

I got the DVD using the blockbuster deal ($25 for DVD and 10 free rentals @ 1per Week). So, effectively, the DVD was free since I rent a movie @ ~$4 each week.

Anyway, finally got around to watching it a few weeks back and it's pretty good. Definitely not in the top10 but it was enjoyable. It's nice to compare the rendering from previous CGI movies like Toy Story to see how quickly they are evolving. I still have to see final fantasy...

i'd disagree.. to get somewhat close looking at low resolutions and sorta cheating maybe 5 years? getting true film quality.. who knows.

and yes, shrek is highly overrated.

This movie rocks! The constant adult references is just classic. It has all the stuff you need for kids less than 10 and everything for an adult, 20+. I just love the wrestling screne!
