Just Saw Napolean Dynamite

I understood the humor. I like subtle humor in some movies. However, I didnt think Napoleon Dynamite was that funny at all. I think it was because of all the hype that I had a greater expectation level for the movie. The movie also seems like something you have to watch with a large group of friends. I watched it with my girlfriend and the movie seemed kind of slow.

It probably seemed funnier to those who could personally relate to the character of Napolean, especially those who are into the sport of Tether Ball, than to most of us normal people.
 
I saw about 20 minutes of it before I lost interest. I did get a couple of laughs from it but I would not call it the best movie ever or (evar!!!!!!!!!!) Perhaps to really enjoy it one should partake in some sort of mood alterering substance(s).

Does Mr Dynamite have his eyes closed most of the time?

you lasted 20mins? I stopped watching after 10mins...too slow and unfunny.

I didn't even know about it until my girlfriend told me about it. She keeps trying to serenade me with the Technology song. 😀

I watched the movie 3 times, and didn't see the wedding until my GF's cousin told me about it. Absolutely hilarious.

I did not look for it and refuse to rent it again.
 
I still don't get this movie...it was so slow and nothing really happened . There were a few decent lines but i just don't get why people love it so much.

I wasn't too impressed with it. I give it credit for its originality and subtle humor, but it was just too random and subtle to even register for me. I can appreciate subtle humor, there is tons of it in Monty Python and the Holy Grail; stuff that even most fans of the movie don't realize, but Napolean Dynamite just didn't do anything for me. The humor was very very mild.
