Just saw my first monitor go up in smoke..literally

Heh the guy next to me was working on a server, and poof, there goes the veritcal on his monitor. Seconds later, smoke pouring out, putrid smell...it was soo cool 🙂 Just thought I would share. It was an IBM G74...wonder if it was part of that recall they sent out a while ago LOL!
 
Damn, I wish I could have got some pics, but no camera here right now...I was thinking of taking it apart and checking out the inside later to see how fried it is. I'll see if I can round up a camera.
 
That would be awesome to see pics of it. I wonder what its like... hmmm

one of my managers had one blow out last week and then he came into work on monday and had the new one go out on him too.

my be a surge or something with his outlet.

fortunately for him, he went on vacation the next day so he didnt have time to play with his computer.
we pulled out of the closet a clunking 15 incher for him.

hes going to be so ecstatic when he comes back to work on monday.

the first time we asked him if he tried to overclock his 17" into a 21"
