Just came back from a day in NYC and from seeing the Matrix: Reloaded in IMAX. I have to say I liked it better in IMAX because of the sound. The humongous screen is a plus, but the sound quality is just so much better than a local theatre could do. Also, a day in the city for a movie is goddamn expensive. I spent ~50 bucks. Here is the breakdown:

LIRR Off/On Peak Round Trip Ticket: $14
MTA Fun Day Metro Card (Day Pass): $7
Lunch: $7
IMAX Movie Ticket: $12
Dinner: $10

Whelp, just wanted to say how much fun it was. Peace Out.

I liked it better in the regular theater.
The sound was better and the opening scene is good but the rest of the movie is 3rd person camera shots and
that does nothing in an IMAX theater. You would need more 1st person views. Like the highway motor chase scene on the Ducati. That would have been great to see if they could have mounted a camera on the front of the bike.

I saw it on IMAX last weekend. I liked the movie a lot more after seeing it a second time, eventhough there was less of a "wow" factor.

Well, this was actually number 3 for me. I saw it twice in a local theatre with two different groups of friends. Then me and one of my better friends wanted to see it in IMAX, so we went to the Lincoln Square Loews theatre, which has IMAX in it. I definitely liked it better number 2 than number 1, and number 3 was still pretty nice. The sound in IMAX cannot be compared to sound in local theatres, there is no way you could. The image quality was amaxing in the IMAX, was not grainy like a normal blowup would be.

That makes absolutely no sense to me.

In the IMAX theater around here, it makes perfect sense. After an hour or so, once you get up, you won't want to sit back down(and they don't allow bathroom breaks either).
