Do they have the HDTV version movies? I heard that only a few sport channels have HDTV programs.

Wow - Is HDTV THAT good?

I just can't believe it is enough to make Matrix Reloaded an AWEsome movie...

HDTV on its own, if done right, could make the 1979 Star Wars's Christmas Special TOO AweSomE

Some might just be upconverted but they are making HD version from the film stock too. Not sure which movies or how many they've done. It's a similar process to making the dvd format just not much compression and a much better resolution.

Where? Matrix Reloaded on Cinemax/HBO-HD is cropped to hell and back. It's too bad.

The Matrix they're running is Open Matte and looks awesome. No cropping at all, just more info at the top and bottom.

This page gives a pretty good demonstration of different aspect ratios and screen formats. Interesting stuff.
