Just saw Donnie Darko for the first time...

I heard it was a really good movie plus I wanted to know what the whole thing about the bunny suit was so I decided to give it a watch. Overall it was a very interesting movie, with some cool concepts, good acting, and of course a great soundtrack to go with it. Although the story itself didn't blow my mind, it was very well rounded and quite memorable. For some reason I felt a little bit weird right after seeing it.

Funny, I just finished watching it myself (not the first time I've seen it though). I'd like to go back now and watch the Director's Cut as it supposedly changes some of the subplots around a fair bit.

The director's cut has bits of text between scenes that give hints about what is going on.

That's the main difference I noticed.

In the director's cut it tells you what is happening to DD too early in the movie.

elaborate pls.

and i'm at the 1.5hr mark. OMG... i had to stop the movie several times. ax + watermain wasnt suspenseful but when he picked up that gun gave me some anxiety. also when he picked up that knife (after he carved the pumkin).

and now burning down that charlatan motivational speaker.

btw- what do you call those sham peddlers? not quack but....?

Yeah, that movie does that to you. It's very well done; the end result is it's just plain unsettling. I've only seen it once, and to be completely honest I still don't really "get" the whole thing, but it's very evocative and leaves you feeling a mix of emotions that don't usually get mixed up. It was a very good movie I thought.
