It was on in the UK for the first time. Shows a very scary view of some of the culture on the other side of the pond.
What are people's views on gun control.

PS I know this is a flame magnet so lets keep the discussion rational.

I shall start off by stating that in the UK we had on shooting in a school and guns where banned noone realy complained. In the US ou have multiple shootings in school yet no one seems to bat an eyelid. This seen from the other side of the pond seems very strange.

just read the other 50 billion threads on this and I'm sure you will find out everyone else's sentiments.

Another BfC thread.

I'll make this simple for you. AMERICA IS NOT HOW HE PORTRAYS IT TO BE. It is not a documentary. It is not credible.

You Brits are an interesting breed. You have hundreds of thousands march in London because the Labour Party wants to ban fox hunting, but you don't care about gun rights.

I spent four months over there last year and I think the conclusion I came to is that Brits and Americans really don't have anything in common. ;)

Right and uh furthermore they also happen to be illegal in Mexico. Mexico City = Crime Capital of the world (or close to it).

The world is overpopulated. People have to die. End of story.:wine::(

We do care about gun rights. Our thoughts are "Their only real use for the mass populous is killing people thus they are bad. Farmers should have them to protect their livestock but the mass population should not"

Exactly.

I know this is major flame-bait, but I don't care. There is no need for a civillian to own a handgun.

No flames, just curiosity. What, pray tell, constitutes your standard of "need"?

Odd. Farmers can use guns to protect chickens, but they can't use them to protect their homes or lives from violent career criminals.

You don't need a gun to protect yourself.
Oh right. Because the guy that breaks into your house will just stop if you ask him nicely to?

If you criminalized handguns then the law-abiding citizens could no longer protect themselves from thugs who don't give a shite about guns laws. There are too many guns floating around the United States today to just round them all up. Even if you could, they would just become the new form of bootlegging.

Miltary personnel and law enforcement agents need to carry handguns.

they carry them for protection. By your logic, people dont need them to protect themselves. So which is it?

There are no cars either, we've got so many alternatives. Look how much death has come from cars. I say we remove cars and have a massive mono-rail system for the entire US.
