This huge ass storm blew through earlier and there was a crazy lightning show along with it. I was outside during some of it and it was just amazing.
Well, I watch the lightning for awhile and then decide to get ready for bed. I went upstairs for a shower and heard sirens go by, so I looked out the window and saw this enormous, orange flame coming up above the rooftops. We got in the car and drove a few streets over and could see all the fire/EMS trucks out there. They sprayed the thing down for a long time and the flames just kept getting taller. Finally the flames died out and lots of black smoke was billowing up, so I guess they finally got it under control. There is absolutely nothing left of that house, though. I heard the lightning strike and was outside when it first happened... I knew it was close because I could feel the heat from the lightning. Man.... lightning is cool but you never think about it actually burning your house down. That could've been any house in this neighborhood.... I hope everyone made it out. Our neighborhood was full of people coming outside to see what was going on.
