I bought a head of lettuce for 99 cents Sunday. Where do you shop? 7-11?

Italian Butter Lettuce, Organic - $8.99 (Midwest, HyVee)

Well there's your problem. Organic Italian butter lettuce? Seriously? Buy real lettuce. I just picked up a head of iceberg for .99 and a package of 3 heads of Romaine for $2.

Just saw a two-door car priced at almost $2,500,000. Is this kind of thing about to become normal? Where's the outrage?

Just saw a bottle of wine priced at almost $200,000. Is this kind of thing about to become normal? Where's the outrage?

Just saw a television priced at almost $150,000. Is this kind of thing about to become normal? Where's the outrage?

Just saw some scribbles on canvas priced at almost $140,000,000. Is this kind of thing about to become normal? Where's the outrage?

Just saw an OP who doesn't understand how prices work. Is this kind of thing about to become normal? Where's the outrage?

I'm not entirely sure why you're making this statement like I bought this. I said I just saw it in passing.

I pay attention to prices. I'm not going to buy that garbage.

You are confused. Iceberg tastes like water and has no nutrients.

Wow, that "artwork" looks like someone gave some barn swallows some LSD and let them make a nest, I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder but that looks like a couple of 5yr old's could make that.

We used to actually grow that in the midwest in the garden, but as good as it was 9 bucks seems a lot to me.

Someone might I guess.

That and it's an off time of the year for it I believe.

No, you're confused. While Iceberg lettuce is not all that flavorful, it does have a small amount of nutrients and even that is not the point. Iceberg lettuce is used by knowledgeable people as texture, it provides a refreshing crispiness that no other greens can match. There's nothing better for adding a welcome crunch to soft foods like sandwiches, burgers, tacos etc. The mistake comes in expecting it to be something it's not. Use it properly and iceberg is an excellent ingredient that enhances many dishes, use it improperly you have nobody to blame but yourself.

No flavor, no nutrients, and makes anything it touches soggy.

Why not use actual food with the same texture?

fashionable artwork is overpriced these days compared to atinques of actual worth

go to the antique coins thread for more about this

the chair that john quincy adams died in was valued at only $100000

worth far more than that especially considering the cultural heritage and historic worth

Pro-tip.
Next time just say, "no thanks, not for me" instead of sounding like an idiot.
