Through no fault of my own (this time!) my video card started distorting all the surfaces in my 3D games, so after much troubleshooting I RMA'd it. Do they actually try to fix cards, which would seem to incur a high labor cost, or just say "F it" and send a new one?

I would imagine they just send you a new one or at least one that had been thoroughly tested to work properly.

Great! Hopefully that means a quick turnaround. The suckiness of my mobo's onboard video is truly astounding. My cell phone has better graphics.

When I RMA'd my AIW9800Pro to ATI, they sent me a refurbed one...it has been going strong since then. :)

that's how they work. they give you one they've fixed already and yours goes on the in pile for fixing.
