I should post some video of a 75-85' bow wave reaching up to deck 10 of such conditions. Nor'Easters are (sort of) fun!

It's funny how some weather can actually liven things up, at least for the first twelve hours or so.

On the way back home from Kosovo we dropped off some guys in Bermuda and took on some family members for the last couple days. The captains father had been in the Navy for about 35 years. He blew chunks after a day. No wind. No waves. The guy just pussed out at random.

Captain was a wee bit embarrassed. I was on starboard lookout watching his dad barf. I'd only been in the navy for a year at that point.

Bobbing around 40-50 miles off the coast of San Diego with 2 of my best friends and their Dad fishing for Bluefin Tuna. I caught a couple nice 20lb Bluefin and a 12lb Dorado. My friend Tom caught an 80lb Bluefin on Thursday. We all caught fish right up until dusk last night.

We went out on the Royal Polaris out of San Diego. We left Wednesday morning and just got back in at 3AM this morning, anchored off Fisherman's Landing and headed in to dock at 5AM.

Great boat, great skipper and great crew. They feed you well and they know where the fish are.

I still feel like I'm on a boat.

Just picked up the fish. My biggest bluefin was 35lbs.

Pics of the boat?

Edit: oooh great size boat!

Sounds like fun! I love cruising, and enjoy time spent on the sea or lake in any boat, even a boring 30 min car ferry or a bigger slowwer coal fired boring 4 hour car ferry ..

I enjoyed going for like 6 or 7 hours and salmon fishing in a 24 or so foot boat a number of years ago in a boat owned by a friend of my grandparents.

Title is misleading. Came here expecting this:

Leaving dissapointed.

Sounds like a fun time! I've been out on Lake Michigan on some charters and a couple times with friends. One time I was pretty hung over, went out, 17' boat 2' waves. I added my stomach's contents to the lake. Caught plenty of keeper salmon, though. I bet ocean fishing would be a blast... glad you have fun, I need to try it some time.

That is the ONLY time I've ever been seasick and it was a half day on the Pacific Ocean on a 26' Bayliner that did it to me. Hangovers and boats do not mix.

No lines at buffet! 😛

A rolling ship + diesel fumes will totally incapacitate any human for 12 hours or more as well.

Man, isn't that the truth. I never minded the smell of diesel when I worked ashore, but for whatever reason when you're already queasy it's pretty horrible. The other thing people don't realize about seasickness is that it will kill you if you don't get over it. These days we have scope patches and at worst you know you can get off the ship if you have to in a few days. In earlier days when a passage might be months you either got better or got dead.
