These blue LED's look really good. I replaced my power and hard drive LED's with the blue ones. Looks awesome. $2.99 each at Radio Shack.

Not everyone... I personally thought it was pretty clever.

But there can be no doubt that Blue LED's look cooler. :)

chiwawa626, I did think it was a very interesting idea and thanks to you I will likley be getting myself a blue led. :) I just said that I think I would have spent 2 more bucks for the LED's. :)

Well, I - by chance - found myself in the mall tonight waiting for my wife and I noticed that I was sitting in front of Radio Shack, so I picked up one of these blue LED's.

You guys are right... these are really cool looking. Although mine looks almost purple in color... it's like a dark neon blue. I'll replace the HD LED with it... it looks neat.

Inguyen: what's a fanbus?

I've dont this to my old computer and my new one on both LEDs.
they are so bright that at nite, they light up the entire floor with the lights off.
I remember a thread on here about 1.5 years ago on this...
maybe the search will turn it up.

Sounds rather cool how do I go about it, Iam gonna go to my local Radio shack store on Saturday what do I ask for and most importantly how do i reconnect the LED's to my ATX case. Do i have to do any soldering or change any wires over, any advice would be certainly appreciated.

I dont know the cat # of it, but its a CLEAR Blue LED
Dont get the one thats shaded blue.

All you do is open up your case and replace your old one with the blue one.
Be sure to observe polarity if possible...
If it doesnt work, you put it in backwards...
you may have to remove the front of you case to get at those LEDs

Some require soldering and some dont.

Is the voltage for the blues ok? I thought they needed 5 volts to run where as case leds need 3.

I dont have a diigtal cam on me, but trust me, EVERYONE asks me about them.
And it attracts the ladies too! :D

they work just fine on whatever voltage the MB is puttin out.

well sh!t, I just tried it and it works. Just plug it in and it runs. I hope abit designed alot of voltage tolerance into the LED output. . . .

I'll pass on the incandescent bulbs, those are sooo 20th century :D

i should have thought of this a while ago, when the lights are out in my room with all my computers running, all i see is a room full of green dots! it looks gay, i need some variety, i think im gonna get a different color set of lights for each computer, probly go blue, red, orange and whatever else i can find.

just tried a white led. Works fine, though it's really bright and now outshines all the other leds on my computer including the blue one.
