just rented the robin williams stand up act DVD

This the "Live On Broadway" DVD?

If so, were you actually watching the same thing as I did? That was probably one of the single most funny standup acts i've seen in years! I was laughing so much throughout it, that my sides were literally hurting by the time it was finished!!

Confused

i believe that was the one, he made a few new york comments in the begining so i assume that was it. anyway, me and my three friends were watching it. 2 of them were on the floor laughing. my other friend and I was glaring at each other wondering why they were laughing. seriously, he may have had 3 or 4 good jokes and that was it

Heh, you must have a different sense of humour to me, my parents, their friends, my aunts/uncles/cousins and your 2 friends, and the same sense of humour as the other friend who, like you, didn't find it funny 🙂

But each to their own 🙂

Probably my favourite bit of it was the bit about how a drunk Scot must have invented golf, pure genious 🙂

that was one of my favorites too. the other two that stand out was how jesus's death lead to easter and how the french loving americans when the germans showed up

yea i thought his humor was pretty contemporary for an old bastard🙂 other comics like steve martin just can't do it anymore, their humor style is too laid back.

Is this the same one where he puts he mouth into the crook of his elbow to show women what it must look like when he's...umm...servicing them?

I was in TEARS!!!

Yeah, really. I paused it a few times throughout to recover from the pain of laughing.

His story about Scotsmen and inventing the game of Golf is a classic. Seen that part many times and it always cracks me up.

Same here! My wife and I watched it on HBO a month or two ago. We hurt afterwards. Some of the best 90 minutes of comedy we've ever heard. The golf and viagra bits were golden.

I thought it was hillarious, though I still get a good laugh everytime out of Chris Rock - Bigger and Blacker. The Dave Chappell comedy special was pretty funny too.

I adored the live on broadway cd that I got but did anyone notice that some of his material was stolen from David Cross? The part about ashcroft losing to a dead guy and some other spots were taken right out of Shut up you f*cking babies.. Don't get me wrong, I think williams is a farm more dynamic comedian..

i didn't think that the live on broadway stuff compared to his standup special from the 80's that used to be shown on comedy central fairly regularly. however, the golfing bit was quite good.

and i must say it was a terrible waste of time. i may of had 3 or 4 laughs the entire hour and a half

Might want to check and see if you have a pulse.

I was fortunate enough to see him Live in Nashville at the Rhyman Auditorium. Fortunate enough to sit about 10 rows back so you could see his facial expressions good. He's was freaking on a roll. Very funny act and I'll definately go again If he ever comes back.
