Just rented Aliens vs. Predators

Ok I am so freaking glad I did not pay to see this in the theatre like I originally wanted to.


Who all thinks they blew this movie - and it could have been something really special?

Well that sucks. Heh, I bought the remake of the classic The Dawn of The Dead and that was a stinker as well. Thank god I only paid $18 for it. I thought it sucked.

I thought the new Dawn of the Dead, while perhaps not equal to the original, was pretty scary.

No, AvP could never have been anything special. Mixing franchises is always a bad idea and should generally be relegated to comic books. It came out exactly as I expected it to. Plotless, pointless and no good scenes whatsoever. It was basically a hacked together movie to show the two species on the screen at the same time.

The original plot, the one they were going to make back in 90-something, wasn't half bad if I recall.

AvP *could* have been one of the best SciFi/action movies of all time. Unfortunatley, they gave the concept and license to a suck-ass script writer and an even crappier director.

dude, that movie is HILARIOUS to see in the theatre - with the right people, of course. It's SOOO bad...

I thought the original was kind over rated. I really liked the new one though.

Special FX - incredible 10/10
Actors/Acting - meh 4/10: Better actors would have improved the movie slightly
Story line - 6/10: Storyline was decent, but I wanted to see more predators fight big groups of aliens...I like big fight scenes, 1v1 is ok, but not as enjoyable as big 20 predator vs 50 aliens or something.

If they made the human part storyline more interesting or developed the characters more, it woulda been better.

story - -10/10 <--THIS is why the movie was so hilarious to watch.

I bought AvP2 (cheap) last year and still haven't opened it.

I've got no connection at home yet (new apartment). I might have to crack that thing open tonight... or maybe I should unpack.

oh man you gotta play it. the marine campaign is scary as hell, and the alien campaign starts out with one of the greatest FPS sequences ever

coincidentally AvP the movie just arrived today via netflix.

I seen it in the theatre. Personally, I think they made it was well as it was going get made. If that makes any sense. I just wish they didn't have Bishop's corp CEO in the movie. At least not at the temple.

Watched it tonight, it was okay. Not stellar, but pretty decent.

They had an okay storyline, but they should have made it longer to develop some of the scenes.

One gripe: How do they figure that some private corp. would be on the scene before the military?

Would have been better if they went with the plot from the original Dark Horse comic. But, they did it on the cheap with expected results.
