I'll wait for other people to dl it and tell how it is first. I personally think RealPlayer is crap. Hopefully this won't be as bad..... but I doubt it.

Hehe... I know what you mean. I am reluctant to install it on my "last-night" fresh install of WinXP (again).

Someone please post your findings...

Thanks for the links, but I will never install anything from real ever again. I do just fine BTW without them.

Is there something besides realplayer that plays realmedia files? It would be great to get rid of this realplayer bullshit.

If this new one doesn't suck, someone please say something.

<< this costs 9.95 off of real's site
here

are these d/l links legit?
>>

The links are directly from the Real site. I copy/pasted them after entering a bunch of lies :) The links are also for the "Free" version... As typical Real, they hide the "FREE" version ;)

I will be installing it on a TEST Win98 system.... I'll post back.

Sorry
The file requested /05cef5cdf25d0a848003/windows/RealOnePlayerBeta.exe cannot be found.
The usual reason for this is that you are attempting to use an expired URL to download a RealNetworks product. Please return to the RealNetworks web site for product and download info.

Our download links change several times daily, so visit our site to get the current info.

If you feel that this is a configuration error, please contact welcome@real.com

======

setting that aside, you can go to this link and click on lower right for your free real one player only. i'm too lazy to create a new account for this (plus "my account" already exists ;) ), so i didn't get to the download links.

aside from that, netscape comes with the real players anyway (which i can choose not to install). and i think real player is the only one that can play .rm and the other variations of real files.

edit: i personally think the interface is somewhat a ripoff from apple's quicktime player. anybody thinking the same thing?

Yikes, it has a burning app and browser built in?! The interface looks cleaner, but I can't see how it'll be less bloated than Real Player. :)
I'm also curious about how it works though.
