Just reinstalled W7. AHCI/hard drive question.

Finally had a chance to install the W7 final release. Been using the RC1 for months. I went ahead and enabled AHCI just to see if there would be a performance increase or any other kind of difference. As soon as I did I noticed my hard drive making a good bit more noise.
Not really grinding but definitely a noticeable noise while seeking/installing stuff.

Could this have anything to do with AHCI or is this just coincidental? I've installed the RC1 twice before and never remember hearing this type noise???
