Just received the strangest scam e-mail ever!

It was an ebay spoof e-mail, telling me that e-bay is no longer using MS Passport to login (which is not true) and I'll need to verify my account information. But here's the kicker <enter Adam Viniateri>, no not that kinda kicker --- there was no link to the scammers page. Instead the e-mail told me to go to e-bay site and verify it from there. WTF?

I think I actually read this in the news a few weeks ago...

Am I missing something? (bad parody?) Ebay is in fact ditching Passport, IIRC.

So that wasn't the scam? That e-mail looked and smelled like a scam. Even subject line was: "Important information about your ebay account"

i got the email today

i read somewhere (slashdot?) that ebay was dropping MS passport technology , thusly i concluded it wasn't a "scam" email

but i deleted it anyway
